OVERVIEW
What is an IEP?
An IEP (Individual Education Plan) is the tool public schools use to support students who require additional assistance beyond what they can receive from their teachers or the classroom environment. These plans are typically provided to children who are struggling to grasp the material that their peers are able to understand.
In private schools, students may access special education services through an Individual Services Plan (ISP), which also results in an Individualized Education Program — a legally binding document designed to ensure that a child receives the appropriate education they are entitled to.
Developing an IEP requires significant time and resources, and the details laid out in the plan are not optional; they are specific instructions that the school must follow. If there are issues with the creation or implementation of the IEP, parents have the right to seek remedies from the school district under the child's right to a free, appropriate public education (FAPE).

IEP vs. 504 Plan
You might have heard of students receiving support at school through a 504 plan instead of an IEP. While both can offer accommodations and assistive technology, a 504 plan is not part of special education and serves a different purpose than an IEP.
Option 01
Individual Education Plan (IEP)
A legally binding document designed to ensure that a child receives the appropriate education they are entitled to. These plans are typically provided to children who are struggling to grasp the material that their peers are able to understand.

Option 02
504 Plan
A plan that outlines specific strategies designed to prevent or reduce situations that could lead to a need for more intensive support. Not part of special education — serves a different purpose than an IEP.
How It Works
Example: if a child becomes overwhelmed in class, they can raise their hand to signal a need for a five-minute break to walk the halls before returning to focus.
Best For
Students who need accommodations and behavioral supports, with considerable flexibility in how the plan is structured.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can adults get help with workplace or college accommodations?
Yes. Our reports are used to support accommodations for standardized testing (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT), college and graduate school, professional licensing exams, and workplace accommodations under ADA guidelines.
Do you help with 504 plans as well as IEPs?
Yes. We support both. The right path depends on your child’s needs — IEPs are part of special education and are typically for students who need significant additional support, while 504 plans focus on preventive strategies and accommodations with more flexibility. We help you determine which is right during your consultation.
How long does the evaluation and report take?
Testing is typically completed across multiple sessions. Report turnaround depends on the option you choose: Normal (6–8 weeks), Expedited (4–6 weeks), Rush (3–5 weeks), or Tornado (2–3 weeks).
What if my child already has an IEP that isn’t being followed?
Parents have the right to seek remedies from the school district and inquire about how the school will fulfill its obligation to provide a free, appropriate public education (FAPE). Our comprehensive reports can support requests for IEP revisions or documentation of implementation issues.
